Instructions

Step 1

Memory failures can negatively affect the performance of your computer and laptop. To remove a faulty memory module and replace it with a working analog, you need to gain access to the internal components of the computer. Disconnect the equipment from the mains. It is better to remove the cable from the system unit, rather than switch the power filter mode.

Step 2

Remove a few screws that secure the side wall of the case. To do this, use a flat or Phillips screwdriver. Remove the cover and locate the RAM modules. They are presented in the form of small flat boards. Unfasten the latches that prevent the RAM from being accidentally disconnected from the computer system board.

Step 3

Remove the desired RAM module. Replace the new board and secure the latches. After loading the operating system, check the stability of the RAM. To do this, open the "Control Panel" menu and select "System and Security". Find the "Windows Memory Check" item in the "Administrative Tools" menu and run it.

Step 4

In mobile computers, memory modules are usually hidden in a special compartment. Turn off the laptop and unplug the power supply. Remove the battery.

Step 5

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove a few screws and open the cover of the memory module compartment. Gently pry up the free edge of the memory module. Remove it from the slot. Lower the connector and close the compartment.

Step 6

If you are not sure which memory module is faulty, then check each of them one by one. To do this, remove all modules and insert one at a time before each check.
