Step 1
Windows Vista Safe Mode is required if the operating system fails to boot due to the installation of specific device drivers or a virus infection. By running Safe Mode, you can remove the damaging driver or program and restart the system normally. To get started, remove all USB drives, CDs and DVDs and other third-party media from your computer.
Step 2
If the previous start of the operating system was unsuccessful, then at the next boot attempt the system will display the Boot Menu, but it can also be called manually. To do this, immediately after restarting the computer, before the active loading of the operating system, press the F8 key. It is difficult to catch the right moment, so the easiest way is to do it several times "blindly" regardless of what is happening on the screen. The menu appears for a short time, so to hold it, press the Up, Down keys. Select the "Safe mode" menu item.
Step 3
If you select "Safe mode with Networking", you can work with a local network. This mode is used to restore data by backing up from local storage or to retrieve files for "cure" from other network users.
Step 4
When you select "Safe mode with Command Prompt" instead of the usual Windows interface, a command prompt window is launched, the MS-DOS environment is emulated. You can restore the system using the commands in this environment. This mode is good for IT professionals.
