If you've connected your Defender keyboard to your computer, you're halfway done. All that's left is to make some minor adjustments for convenience. If the keyboard is multimedia, some of the buttons may seem awkward to you. Do not be upset, as it is much easier to configure the keyboard than a USB controller in BIOS.

Step 1
If you need to adjust the cursor blinking rate, the rate at which the entered character is repeated, or the delay before starting the repeat, just go to the standard settings: Start - Control Panel - Keyboard. In the window that opens, in the "Speed" tab, there will be these items, and you can check the result of the setting in real time in a special field. Click OK to save the settings. The Hardware tab is used to work with driver information and for technical information. If you are a beginner, it is not recommended to change the parameters in this tab.
Step 2
To customize the multimedia keys, you need the special Defender software supplied with the keyboard. You need to install it, this will install the driver and software. A keyboard icon should appear on the desktop. Click on it, a window with the program interface will open, containing several tabs (depending on the keyboard model and software version). The first tab, Keys, allows you to customize the multimedia keys. You can set any action on a button convenient for you - from launching an mp3 file to your favorite game. If you are satisfied with the settings, click OK (or Accept / Save). The rest of the tabs are needed for other settings, for example, to display the Caps Lock mode in the tray. If you need to change these settings, do not go to other tabs.
Step 3
If the Defender keyboard did not come with a disc with the program, you can download the universal free program Media Key (or any similar one). In the program window, in the "Buttons" tab, click the "Add" icon and specify the button or key combination that you will use, then associate them with the launch of the application you need. In programs like Media Key, you can customize not only the multimedia keys, but also the standard ones. To save changes - click on the floppy disk icon. To adjust the work of the program, go to the "Settings" tab.
