Windows operating systems have ample opportunity to customize the appearance of windows and desktop. To change the design, you can use both the themes built into the system, and install your own graphic design packages. All this can be done using standard Windows tools.
Instructions
Step 1
Right-click on a free area of the desktop and select the "Personalization" section. You can also go to this menu using "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Appearance and Personalization" - "Change the theme".
Step 2
The window that opens will display the design elements available in the system and their variants. In the "My Themes" list, you will see the themes you have installed for the interface. The next section will introduce the "Aero Themes" that were included by default in Windows. Below are the standard design elements from previous versions of Windows.
Step 3
To activate a theme, just click on it with the left mouse button. The appearance will be changed and you can close the control editor window. If you want to change the color of windows or put a splash screen for the screen, click on one of the icons at the bottom of the window. Use the menu items to make the desired settings according to your preferences, and then save the changes.
Step 4
You can also download additional skins from the Internet or from the official Microsoft website. Download the necessary files using your browser and run the resulting file by double-clicking on it with the left mouse button. Some themes come in zip format, so they will need to be unpacked before installation. To do this, use a special utility for working with WinRAR packages.
Step 5
Some theme packages on the Internet are created by third-party developers and cannot be installed directly on the system. To do this, you will have to install additional software that will circumvent this limitation. To install such themes, use the instructions on the site you found.
