Installing from a disc is a common method of installing a system on a computer. Windows can be written to a storage medium on its own in another functioning system using auxiliary programs. To start the disk later, you will need to make special BIOS settings.
Necessary
Windows disk image
Instructions
Step 1
To burn a disc, download an image of the system you want to install on your computer. You can download the required file both from the Microsoft website and from alternative resources. If you already have a licensed copy of the system on disk, you can go directly to BIOS setup.
Step 2
After the download is complete, install a program for burning images to disk, such as UltraISO or ISOWorkShop. To install these applications, go to the developer's official website and use the download section to select and install the most recent version.
Step 3
Run the resulting file and complete the installation following the instructions on the screen. Once the installation is complete, right-click on the image file and select "Open With". In the drop-down list, select the program you just installed.
Step 4
Click on the "Burn to Disc" or "Burn" button. Insert a blank storage medium into your computer's drive. In the window that appears, click "Burn", having previously selected the item "Check disc after burning". If necessary, select the name of your disk drive in the system. Wait until the end of the recording and the corresponding notification appears.
Step 5
You will need to configure the BIOS before running the installation from disk. To do this, turn off your computer and restart it. Press the button to bring up the BIOS. The name of the key will be indicated at the bottom next to the Start setup line or just Setup, depending on the model of the motherboard and the BIOS component. Most computers call this menu using F2, F4, Del or F8.
Step 6
Once in the BIOS menu, go to the Boot section. Highlight the Set boot device priority item and set the First Boot Device item to the name of your drive for reading disks. Use the arrow buttons below (for example, F5 and F6) to move through the menu items one at a time. With your CD / DVD drive selected as the First Boot Device, press the F10 (Exit saving changes) button and confirm to save the changed settings. The computer will restart.
Step 7
If the disc was burned correctly and was correctly inserted into the drive, the Windows installation procedure will start.
