Almost any Internet user, and no matter how often he is on this network, there comes a time when too many bookmarks accumulate in the browser service. And sometimes there are so many that it is impossible to understand them. The situation is complicated by the fact that most of these bookmarks are not working. In this case, it is recommended to remove bookmarks from the journal. There are two ways - using additional software or manually.

Step 1
Decide which method will be most acceptable for you - remove all links from your journal manually or use a special program to recognize their status, which can be downloaded for free on the Internet.

If you decide to clear the log manually, follow several consecutive steps in the browser. So, first you need to select a tab with bookmarks, and then delete unnecessary ones by clicking on each with the right mouse button and choosing the dialogue entry "Delete". You can delete the entire list and you will get the same result.
Step 3
If you decide to use software to remove bookmarks, download a program to check the so-called "broken" bookmarks. An example of such a program can be considered AM-DeadLink, its advantages are that the program is free, while it is compatible with such browsers as Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla, Chrome. The program quickly identifies obsolete bookmarks and their duplicates in the magazine.
Step 4
Install the program on your computer, then open it and select the browser that you need to test from the list provided. After that, you need to start the verification mode and wait for the results shown later on the screen. A table with a list of tabs and their status will be displayed on the PC display. As a rule, next to each bookmark, the status at the moment will be written - "error", "redirected", "not working", etc. The duplicates that you can delete will also be displayed here. After clearing the log, you can start restarting your computer and continue working.
