Step 1
In some laptops, webcams are initially disabled. This is most commonly used to reduce the energy used to maintain unused devices. Try to enable your webcam through Device Manager.

If you have reinstalled the operating system, update the software required to activate the webcam. Visit the official website of the company that developed the mobile computer you are using.

Search for drivers and applications suitable for your laptop. To do this, enter the name of its model in the appropriate field. Download bundles of files marked as webcam software.

Update your drivers through Device Manager. Be sure to use the manual installation method. Specify the directory where the downloaded archives were saved. If you downloaded the installer from the site, run it.

After updating the software, restart the mobile computer. Make sure the webcam is active. Check the functionality of the device. In a situation where the camera was activated by manually installing applications, launch a messenger program, for example, Skype.

Use the specified utility to configure the parameters of the web-camera. As a rule, a microphone is present in laptops with a built-in camera. Activate this equipment.

Open the control panel. Select the Hardware and Sound submenu and click the Change Sound Devices link. Find the integrated microphone, highlight its icon and click the "Default" button.
