Color inkjet printers have become widespread due to their low cost and good print quality. However, they also have their drawbacks. In particular, users of such printers are often faced with drying ink in cartridges.

Drying of a cartridge usually occurs when it runs out of ink and the printer has not been used for a long time after that. Moreover, the chances of "reviving" it directly depend on how long it has stood without use. If a cartridge has been in a dry state for several months, it is very difficult, if not impossible, to restore it. With a period of one to two weeks, restoring a dried cartridge is quite a feasible task.

There are several ways to recover. At first, you should try a simple one, then, if it does not help, move on to more complex ones. To work with a dried cartridge, prepare a few paper towels so as not to smear the table, the plastic lid from the can, alcohol or vodka and a syringe. Pour alcohol into the cap, then immerse the cartridge in it for a few hours. After that, insert the syringe into the upper hole and blow out the cartridge with a strong jet of air.

If the above procedure does not work, try another method. Put a kettle of water on the gas, wait until it boils. Then substitute the dried cartridge head under the steam jet and hold it there for 5-8 seconds. Then wipe with a napkin and hold it over steam again, and so on five times. Blow out the cartridge with a syringe. This method can be used to recover even heavily dried cartridges.

To restore a thoroughly dried cartridge, you can use special solutions. The first is acidic. Its composition: 10% acetic acid essence, 10% alcohol, 80% distilled water. The second is neutral. Its composition: 10% glycerin, 10% alcohol, 80% distilled water. The third is alkaline. Its composition: 10% ammonia, 10% alcohol, 10% glycerin, 70% distilled water.

Try all three solutions one at a time. The presence of different media, from acidic to alkaline, allows you to soak even very dry cartridges. In this case, the cartridge must be kept in each solution for at least 10 hours. After removing from each solution, carefully try to purge the cartridge with a syringe.
