Step 1
Errors in the operation of "Device Manager", like other Windows system utilities, can occur due to the poor state of the system, damage to system files and actions of viruses. There may also be various failures from unlicensed software, the actions of hackers and many other factors that affect the operation of a personal computer.
Step 2
Click on the "Start" button and select "Run". Type cmd in the dialog box and press enter. The command line will start, from which you can use the execution of service commands, including checking system files. Enter the sfc / scannow command. This command will check and restore system files. Be prepared to insert the disc with the operating system distribution kit if the utility does not find the required files for recovery on the hard drive.
Step 3
If you do not plan to scan system files right now, enter the sfc / scanboot command and the check will be performed the next time the system boots. You can revert the operating system to the point where the utilities did not throw errors if you have an appropriate restore point. Click the Start button, then All Programs, Maintenance, System Backup and Restore.
Step 4
You can also restore system files using the system distribution kit. Insert the disc into the drive and boot your computer from optical media. Choose to install the system in update mode or go straight to restoring system files by going to the "System Restore" item. Within a few minutes, the operating system will scan all the files that must be on the computer for full operation, and the missing data will be automatically restored.
