There are many computer programs that, after a simple installation process, can be uninstalled just as easily. Kaspersky Anti-Virus belongs to the category of the same programs, therefore, if desired, it can be easily erased from the system.

The most promising ways to uninstall antivirus software

There are two most basic and easiest methods to remove antivirus. The first is through the Start menu, the second is through the uninstaller. Each of them implies a different degree of user participation. The second removal method is more automated, which makes the whole process easier.

Uninstalling via the Start Menu

Go to the "Start" menu and click "All Programs" to display a complete list of installed applications on the monitor. Find the folder with the name "Kaspersky Internet Security" in the list. Depending on the version of the antivirus, the folder name may differ. After that, at the very bottom, click "Delete" or "Uninstall".

After completing the previous steps, the Kaspersky Internet Security Installation Wizard window will open. It is he who performs the process of removing the antivirus program from the computer. To avoid any errors, close all active programs on the desktop before starting the procedure. To continue erasing in the lower right corner of the window, click "Next".

In the next step, check one of the options provided. Either "Remove the entire program" or "Keep program objects". The first one completely cleans the PC from Kaspersky, the second one removes the antivirus, but retains the most important elements, which allows, if necessary, to perform the recovery procedure.

Click "Next" until a progress bar appears, indicating the start of the deletion procedure. It is important to note that the antivirus program should be erased prior to installing a new antivirus program. The presence of two such applications on a computer at once will cause numerous errors and lead to a complete system failure.

After complete removal, restart your computer. This is necessary for the device to pre-save all parameters and free up RAM. If the antivirus was completely removed, that is, without saving individual components, then clean the registry to get rid of the "tails" of the application.

In order to open the registry editor, in the "Start" menu, click "Run" and enter the command "regedit". A window will appear on the monitor, in the upper field of which click "Edit" and select the "Find" option. To start the search process, check the following options: "Section names", "Parameter names" and "Parameter values".

At the end of the search, the folder containing the searched files will be marked automatically. Right-click the detected folder "Kaspersky Anti-Virus" and click the "Delete" function located in the context menu. All remnants of the program will be removed from the registry completely.

Removing with an uninstaller

A similar uninstallation process can be performed using a special uninstaller program. This method will significantly reduce the time, since this program will clean the registry itself.
