A "computer-to-computer" connection is used when it is necessary to combine them into a local network without using a special switch - "switch". In this case, the order of placing the wiring in both lugs at the ends of the twisted-pair cable will be different and will differ from that which is used if there is a switch in the network.
Necessary
UTP cable, two RJ-45 lugs. Crimper or knife and flat screwdriver
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure you have prepared all the materials and tools required for the operation. The minimum set of materials should consist of the required length of twisted-pair cable (UTP cable) and two RJ-45 lugs. From the tools, prepare a cutting tool (for example, a knife or blade) and a flat screwdriver. If you have the opportunity to borrow from someone or buy a special crimping tool ("crimper"), then do it without fail - its availability will greatly simplify the entire procedure and will seriously improve the quality of the resulting connection.
Step 2
Strip 12.5 millimeters (1/2 inch) of outer plastic insulation from both ends of the cable. The crimping tool for this operation has a special groove of the required length and a suitably reinforced blade - insert the end of the cable into the groove, bring the handles of the tool together and turn (crimper or cable - whichever is more convenient for you). If no instrument is available, measure half an inch with a ruler or attach a tip to the length of the tip. A nylon thread stretched inside many types of this cable can help in removing the plastic sheath - by pulling it to the side, you can cut through the outer sheath without damaging the insulation of the inner wires.
Step 3
Untwist each of the four twisted pairs and place them in the correct order - it will be different for each of the connectors. If the wires are numbered from left to right, then for one tip, the first should be a conductor with white-orange markings, the second with orange, the third with white-green, fourth with blue, fifth with white-blue, sixth with green, seventh - with white-brown, eighth - with brown. For the second tip, the first should be white and green, the second should be green, the third should be white and orange, the fourth should be blue, the fifth should be white and blue, the sixth should be orange, the seventh should be white and brown, and the eighth should be brown wires.
Step 4
Insert the wires in the sequence shown above into each of the lugs. In the tip, the numbering from left to right will be correct if you turn it with the plastic latch on the body upwards, and the contacts towards you. There is no need to strip the wires before inserting - when you push them all the way in, the corresponding connectors in each slot of the plug will cut through the insulation and ensure good contact with the braided wire.
Step 5
Crimp each fork. There is a special groove in the crimper for this operation - insert the plastic tip into it and bring the handles of the instrument. If this wonderful device is not there, then do this operation separately for each contact using a screwdriver, gently pressing it in. Then press in the plastic retainer at the base of the handpiece. This completes the procedure.
