Step 1
Open your game directory. To see where the game is stored on the hard drive, right-click on the game's shortcut on the desktop. Select Properties. At the top of the window, find the path to the game files in the "Object" field. Follow this path in the "Explorer".

Examine the game folders. Find a folder called Save. It is in such folders that files are stored in which it is recorded how many levels you have passed, and to what capabilities your character has developed in the game. Copy the entire Save folder to another partition on your hard drive. For example, create on disk "D": a folder "My games", and inside it - a folder with the name of your game (in case you will copy the save of more than one game).

Some games are built in such a way that they write save data to the user's personal folders. Open "My Computer" and find your own user folder. Turn on the display of hidden and system files in the folder properties (item "Organize" - "Folder and search options"). Now go to the hidden AppData folder, then to the Roaming folder. Now find the folder of your game, and inside it - the save data, and copy it to the prepared location.

After reinstalling the system, reinstall the game. After that, copy the Save dad to the game folder, replacing the existing files. Start the game and check for your save. Almost all games can be restored this way. If you are having difficulty finding the folder where the game saves your progress in the game, refer to thematic forums for information. You can also just reinstall the entire game, and find the save on the Internet. Often, users of various games post their save. The exact same file cannot be found, however, it will be possible to get closer to the passed moment so as not to lose interest in the game.
