Downloading large files of games, music or movies often involves a preliminary operation of dividing them into several parts for easy transfer. After the download, the user needs to reconnect the "split" files to be able to use them.
Necessary
- - WinRAR;
- - Total Commander.
Instructions
Step 1
Create a separate folder with an arbitrary name in any convenient directory and move all the downloaded parts of the split file into it.
Step 2
Open the created folder and determine the type of saved parts by their extension: -.part means that the file was split using the WinRAR program; -.digital_extension and the presence of an additional *.crc file required to check the integrity of the archive during its assembly implies the use of the Total Commander application …
Step 3
Call the context menu of the first part of the split file named part1 (for WinRAR) by right-clicking and go to the WinRAR submenu.
Step 4
Specify the "Extract to current folder" command and determine the speed of the process in the extract dialog box that opens.
Step 5
Wait until the build process of the required file is completed and perform the necessary operations with it (for WinRAR).
Step 6
Collect all the downloaded parts of the split file into one folder and call the main menu of the Windows operating system by clicking the "Start" button to carry out the assembly procedure of the selected file using the Total Commander application.
Step 7
Go to All Programs and run the application.
Step 8
Find the first part of the split file with the extension.001 and select it.
Step 9
Expand the "File" menu of the top toolbar of the Total Commander application window and go to the "Collect files" item.
Step 10
Specify the full path to the previously defined first part of the file to be assembled in the "Build" dialog box that opens and confirm your choice by clicking OK.
Step 11
Check the speed of the extraction process in the new dialog box and wait for the completion of the assembly procedure.
Step 12
Confirm that you are ready to use the collected file by clicking OK in the final dialog box of the Total Commander application and perform the necessary operations with the newly created file.
