The procedure for formatting partition E of a hard disk is performed according to the general rules for formatting volumes in the Microsoft Windows operating system and can be carried out using standard system tools.
Instructions
Step 1
Call the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system by clicking the "Start" button to initiate the procedure for formatting drive E using the graphical interface and go to the "Control Panel" item.
Step 2
Expand the Administrative Tools link and select the Computer Management node.
Step 3
Select the "Disk Management" item and open the context menu of the "Disk E" item by clicking the right mouse button.
Step 4
Specify the "Format" command in the drop-down menu and select the required file system (NTFS is recommended).

Confirm the execution of the command by pressing the OK button or return to the main menu "Start" for an alternative format operation.

Go to Run and enter cmd in the Open box to launch the Command Prompt tool.

Confirm the command with OK and enter format e: in the command interpreter text box.

Confirm the execution of the command by pressing the function key Enter and wait for the system warning to erase all data on the selected disk.

Press the function key Y to perform the formatting operation, or cancel the procedure by pressing the N key.

Use the syntax format /? To define the required additional parameters for the formatting command of the selected volume, or insert the installation disc into the drive (if available) and boot the OS to format and / or re-partition the selected volume.

Remember that the quick format option will shorten the operation time, but will not delete the information saved on the disk. Correction of bad sectors in the quick format mode is also not performed. This function is only available in full formatting mode, which takes a long time.
