Movies or cartoons do not always have full voice dubbing, and many people prefer to watch a movie listening to the original soundtrack with the speech of real actors, and they prefer to see the translation of the actors' remarks in subtitles. Most often, subtitles are a separate file that can be started along with the video recording and then turned off, but sometimes the subtitles are embedded in the video. Such subtitles are more difficult to remove.

Instructions

Step 1

The easiest way to trim subtitles is in Virtual Dub. This method will negatively affect the quality of your video file, but it can be used to remove subtitles from the video as quickly as possible. Launch Virtual Dub, and in the program open the desired video file in AVI format.

Step 2

Open the Video menu and then the Filters section. Click on the Add button and select the Null Transform option. Open the filter menu again and select the filter you just added, then click on the Cropping button. Crop the subtitles by cropping the area of the video that you want to remain visible. Save the video file by cropping the bottom with subtitles.

Step 3

In addition, you can selectively cut subtitles from a video file using both Virtual Dub and Adobe Premiere. Select the desired part of the picture with subtitles and apply a filter to it, cutting out the same number of pixels vertically and horizontally, manually setting the number of pixels or percent for cropping in the filter settings.

Step 4

You can better remove subtitles from the picture using the LogoAway filter in Virtual Dub. Download the filter from the Internet and install it into the program. Open the video with subtitles in the program, and then run the LogoAway filter loaded into the program's filter list.

Step 5

Click on the Solid Fill option and on Show Preview. Adjust the Border Size and adjust the X-Y Blur parameter. Cover the subtitles with a box of a suitable size and apply a filter. Filtered subtitles will disappear, giving minimal distortion of the video image.
