Working with formulas and equations in the Word office application included in the Microsoft Office package is provided by a special Formula Editor utility, which is part of the Math Type program.
Instructions
Step 1
Press the "Start" button to bring up the main menu of the system and go to the "All Programs" item.
Step 2
Point to Microsoft Office and start Word.
Step 3
Call the context menu of the toolbar by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Settings" item.
Step 4
Click the Commands tab in the Preferences dialog box that opens and select Insert under Categories.
Step 5
Point to Formula Editor and drag the item to any empty spot on the toolbar of the Word window.
Step 6
Close all open program windows if the Formula Editor utility cannot be found and open the Add / Remove Programs node in the operating system control panel by double-clicking to install the required tool.
Step 7
Specify the application in the list of installed programs and click the "Change" button.
Step 8
Specify the command "Add or remove components" and confirm your choice by clicking the "Next" button.
Step 9
Apply the checkbox to the "Advanced Application Configuration" field and confirm the execution of the command by clicking the "Next" button.
Step 10
Expand the Office Tools menu and click Formula Editor.

Select the "Run from my computer" option and exit the program.
Step 12
Return to the main Start menu and go to Run to edit the scaling option for the Formula Editor utility.

Type regedit in the Open box and press the function keys CTRL + A at the same time.
Step 14
Enter forceopen in the text box of the search box and click OK to confirm the command.
Step 15
Open the found forceopen element by double clicking and change the parameter value to 1.

Exit the registry editor and return to the main window of the Microsoft Word office application.
Step 17
Press the added button of the formula editor in the toolbar and change the scale for the convenience of entering formulas.
