Step 1
One of the best and easiest solutions to split a file and create a two-volume (multivolume) archive is to use WinRAR. Hover your mouse over the source file and right-click. In the menu, select the item: "Add to archive", and then in the window that appears, in the "General" tab, specify the required file size from the "Split file" submenu. Then click the "OK" button, after which several archive files will be created. files, you need to create a folder for them and move them there for subsequent unzipping.

A similar "splitting" of the file is carried out by the "Total Commander" program. To carry out this operation, go to the "File" menu item located at the top of the program, check the "Split file" checkbox, specify the size of the new files in the dialog box and specify the location for saving them. After clicking "OK" you will get a folder with a lot of archived parts of the original file.
Step 3
AVI file is one of the most common video formats. Any video files are large enough that they often have to be divided into two (or more) parts. A program called "VirtualDub" has been specially created for this procedure. To split a file, run the program, in the two lower "windows" specify the desired size for each fragment of the file. Then click on the "Video" tab and check the "Streaming Copy" box. Saving needs to be done as a segmented AVI file. It is recommended that the resulting parts be given meaningful names to help you easily combine the files into a single block.
