While working with hard drives, all kinds of failures are possible. If the problem is related to the inability to start one of the partitions, you should use special software, for example, Acronis Disk Director.

Step 1
The inability to open a specific partition of the hard drive is a fairly common problem. If you don't feel like formatting your local disk to fix errors, use Acronis Disk Director. Install this app.
Step 2
Restart your computer and start ADD. If the problem is with the system local drive, burn the application to a DVD and run it in DOS mode. First, try changing some parameters of the section.
Step 3
Right-click on the desired partition of the hard drive and select "Change drive letter". Choose an arbitrary value from the available options. Click the Apply button and restart your computer (for DOS mode).
Step 4
Try to open the contents of your local drive. If the problem is not resolved, restart Acronis Disk Director. Right-click on the desired disk icon and go to the "Delete" item. Return to the main menu and click the "Apply" button.
Step 5
Never create a new volume after deleting a partition. This will make the file recovery procedure much more difficult. Start the ADD program and open the menu for additional actions with an unallocated area. Select "Recovery".
Step 6
Activate the items "Manual method" and "Full scan". Click "Next". Wait a while until you are presented with a list of available local drives. Select the volume you just deleted.
Step 7
Click "Next". Specify a volume label, select a drive letter and file system. Pay attention to the fact that you need to apply exactly the structure of the volume that was in use before it was deleted. Click the Finish and Apply buttons.
Step 8
Reboot your computer. Try to open your local drive. If some of the files were lost during the recovery process, use Easy Recovery to find them.
