Step 1
Start Outlook Express. Next, select the type of mail server on which your mailbox is registered. Almost all modern mail servers use the POP3 protocol.

Now you should enter your details. In the line "Your name", respectively, enter the name, in the line below - the e-mail address. Then complete the Login Information section. In the "Username" line, enter the name of the email address. For example, if your address is [email protected], then the username will be slava. Enter your e-mail access password below.

Next, you should fill in the "Server Information" section. Enter the incoming and outgoing mail servers on the top and bottom lines. For Yandex, the server address will be yandex.ru. Enter the server name based on your email address.

Go to the section for editing profile data. Make changes to the parameters if necessary.

To receive letters from your e-mail, you need to click "Deliver mail" in your profile. After a while, letters from the e-mail box will appear in the mail client, which will be placed in the appropriate folders ("Inbox", "Outbox", "Drafts", etc.). To add the addresses you need to the address book, just click "Contacts" in the client menu.

If, after configuring Outlook Express, you want to test its functionality, you can do it this way. In the mail client window, click "Create message". In the "To" line, enter your own email address. Then just click "Send". A minute later, in the mail client menu, click "Deliver mail". You should receive a letter that you sent to yourself. If the message was received, then the mail client is configured correctly.
