Instructions

Step 1

If your motherboard supports fast overclocking mode, then restart your computer and hold down the Del key. After a while, the motherboard BIOS menu will open. Open the System Configuration menu. Find the item related to CPU parameters and open it.

Step 2

Now find the line that will display the original clock speed of the processor and its multiplier, for example x5. Press the Enter key to change this parameter. Be extremely careful! Change the multiplier by only one unit. Save BIOS settings by pressing F10.

Step 3

Wait for the computer to boot and make sure that the processor is working properly. If you need to overclock the processor even more, repeat the procedure for changing its multiplier. Please note that if you have a relatively weak power supply installed, then after significantly accelerating the processor, some devices built into the motherboard, for example, a sound card, may be disabled.

Step 4

There are special utilities for overclocking the processor in the Windows environment. Download and install AMD OverDrive software. Naturally, it is only suitable for AMD processors.

Step 5

Run ADM OverDrive and wait while the program scans the connected hardware. In the left column of the menu that opens, find the Clock / Voltage item and open it.

Step 6

Find the Clock submenu. If you have a multi-core processor, then check the box next to Select All Cores. Now find the item CPU Core 0 Multipler. Move the slider opposite this item to the right side to increase the processor multiplier.

Step 7

Click the Apply button to apply the changes. Now find the Preferences button in the left corner and click it. Open the Settings menu. Check the box next to Apply my last settings when system boots. Close the program and restart your computer.
