Not every film can boast of the fact that it attracts attention from the first to the last minute. Although if it contains a couple of impressive scenes, they can be placed in a separate file and, if desired, return to them. This can be done using the VirtualDubMod program.
Necessary
- - VirtualDubMod program;
- - Xvid codec.
Instructions
Step 1
Download and install the VirtualDubMod program (download link is at the end of the article). If you have the K-lite codec pack installed, this means that you also have the Xvid codec installed, which you will need to work. If not, follow the second link at the end of the article, download the archive, then unpack it and copy these files to the C: WINDOWSsystem32 folder. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
Step 2
Launch VirtualDubMod and click the Video> Compression menu item. Select Xvid from the list of codecs and click Configure. Click on the Target quantizer button, thereby switching to Target bitrate mode. Move the slider, which is below, as far to the right as possible. In the More field, click on the button with the same name - More. In the window that appears, set the following parameters: Motion Search Precision - 6, and in VHQ mode - 4. Leave the rest of the parameters unchanged. Close open windows by clicking OK in each of them.
Step 3
Click the File -> Open video file menu item and select the required video file in the window that appears. The video will appear in the workspace of the program. At the bottom there is a marker, hold down on it with the left mouse button and move it left and right. As you can see, by moving the marker, you move relative to the length of the movie.
Step 4
Now cut out the unnecessary from the movie. Set the marker approximately in the place that will be the beginning of the unnecessary segment, and then use the "Left" and "Right" keys to make more precise adjustments. Click on the Mark in button, it is shown as a half arrow and is directed to the left. Thus, you marked the beginning of the segment. Now move the marker to the intended end, use the "Left" and "Right" keys to adjust its position more precisely and click on the Mark out button (it is located to the right of Mark in). Now a blue segment will appear between these two marks in the timeline. Press Delete on your keyboard to delete this segment. Follow these steps with all unnecessary segments in the movie.
Step 5
To save the result, press the F7 hotkey, select avi in the File type field, specify the path and click Save. The conversion will take place for a while, and then the finished file will appear in the directory you specified.
