Despite the active development of all kinds of operating systems, they can hardly be called universal. Even Microsoft's new operating system, Windows Seven, has a significant flaw. The fact is that in rare cases, when installing the Windows Seven operating system on relatively old computers, a problem occurs, called a "black screen". Fortunately, it can be solved quite simply.

Necessary

Windows installation disc

Instructions

Step 1

Start the process of installing the operating system.

Step 2

Press the F8 key while turning on the computer. A window containing a list of devices will appear on the monitor display. Select the DVD drive that contains the Windows Seven installation disc and press Enter.

Step 3

In the first window of the installer, select a menu language. Pay attention to the following nuance: the specified language will apply only to the installation menu, and not to the operating system itself.

Step 4

In the next window, specify the version of Windows Seven that you want to install. It is not recommended to choose a 64-bit OS if you are not sure whether your computer or laptop supports this mode.

Step 5

Configure the settings for hard drives and their partitions. If you need to create an additional partition to install an operating system on it, perform this operation by clicking the "Disk Setup" button and selecting the required parameters. Select a local drive for OS installation and click Next.

Step 6

Wait for the first computer restart. Most likely, it is at this stage that the "black screen" error will manifest itself. If nothing is displayed on the monitor display after restarting, then restart the computer by pressing the Reset button.

Step 7

When a menu appears containing boot options for the operating system, press the F8 key. This is necessary to display additional items in this menu. Select the option "Run at low resolution 640x480". Press the Enter key.

Step 8

The installation of the operating system will continue as usual. Naturally, the screen resolution will be 640x480. After the OS installation is complete, change this resolution by first installing the appropriate drivers.
