Step 1
The most convenient and common method for changing the input language is the so-called "hot key combination". This is usually the key combination ctrl-shift or alt-shift. This means that to switch the input language from English to Russian and vice versa, it is enough to simultaneously press alt-shift or ctrl-shift. To check the current keyboard shortcut, go to "Start - Control Panel", then select "Language and Regional Standards" and then "Languages - More - Keyboard Options - Change shortcut keys", in a new window you can see the current keyboard shortcut and, if necessary, it is easy to change it.
Step 2
The second method of changing the input language and layout is to use the language bar, which is located in the tray (where the system clock is located). If it is hidden, click "Start - Control Panel", then select "Language and Regional Standards - Languages - More - Language Bar" and select the checkbox to display the panel on the desktop. Then you can switch the language in Windows simply by clicking on this panel and selecting the desired language from the list.

You can also use a special program to change the language. There are a huge number of such programs on the Internet and most of them are available for free download. The most popular and famous is the Punto Switcher. By downloading and installing such a program, you will significantly expand the range of possibilities for setting the input language and its change, such as automatic language change or changing the language by any hot key, automatic transliteration of English letters into Russian and vice versa, the ability to correct case, work with the text selected in the buffer and many other pleasant and convenient features. Of course, the latter option is more suitable for experienced users, since such an abundance of possibilities may even get in the way for beginners at first.
