DVDs have a larger capacity than CDs, so they are suitable not only for recording high quality video, but also for using them as a storage medium. In order to burn discs, you must have a drive labeled DVD + RDL.
Necessary
- - computer;
- - blank DVD disc;
- - CD-Burner XP or Nero program.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure that your drive supports the DVD burning function (indicated in the marking, common to all modern device models). Purchase a DVD-R / RW disc to burn files from a store. If you are going to use it many times, choose DVD-RW. You can also purchase a DVD-RDL, which works like a removable USB drive.
Step 2
If you have Windows Vista or Windows Seven operating system installed on your computer, simply copy the files to the disk by selecting them and using the context menu to send them to the appropriate media. Then write the files using standard Windows tools.
Step 3
If your computer is running Windows XP or lower, download and install additional DVD burning software such as CD Burner XP. If you need more functions from the burner, use Nero or its equivalent.
Step 4
After installing the required software, proceed to create a recording project. Select the item "Create a data disc" in the program, after which a window with the contents will appear on your screen. Use the special buttons me to add files and folders from your computer to the recording project.
Step 5
Configure the disc burning on your computer, also specify the drive speed. If you need to provide the best recording quality, reduce this parameter by half. If you need to check the files after recording, check the corresponding menu item.
Step 6
If you want to finalize the disc, also check the corresponding menu item. If you want to leave it open for writing, do nothing. In this case, be careful in the future, as your storage medium may be damaged by viruses.
